-Normally main match can be shot either by open class revolver or open class auto pistol. Shooter has to choose, which weapon he want use in main match.

Results of main match are used for wa1500 international classification and wa1500 world ranking list.

Some members of wa 1500 don´t run the main match, they do have two separated matches: revolver 1500 and pistol 1500. Which result to send for wa1500 classification and wa1500 world ranking list:

Details

Positions

Positions:The postitions for use in a Match shall be stated in the Tournament program under conditions of the Match and shall be in accordance with definitions of postitions deescribed in this section. Illustrations show a right handed shooter. Right handed shooting positions are the same as those shown expect right hand is the primary hand holding the gun. Either foot may be in forward position. Positions illustrations are only examples. The written rule is official.

 the ground:All refferences to "ground" in the following position rules are to be construed as applying to surface of the firing point, floor, such shooting mats, platforms as are cusomarily used on shooting ranges.

 artificial support:Any supporting surface except the ground nit specifically authorized for use in the Rules for the position prescribed. Digging or use of elbow or heel holes at the firing point or the use of depressions which form an artificial support for the elbows, arms, orlegs is prohibited. Use of artificial support is prohibitet except as individually authorized for the physically handicapped shooter. Equipment such as handcuff cases, speed loader, ammunition pouches, holster, or any equipment would be considered "artificial support" when it is positioned in a location so as to provide or give reasonable appearance of providing support.

 Clothing:It is the intent that closing must be normal street (or uniform) type, which corresponds to the weather conditions during the competition. No clothing may be worn which will, in any manner, give the wearer artificial support. This includes shooting jackets, coats or vests, which have a tightening device intended to stiffen the body or tightening device to stiffen the arm or lend support to the arm.

ready Position::L oaded gun in a conventional right or right-handed holster. The competitor must stand erect with arms hanging at the sides. Competitiors hand may not touch the gun or holster, before the target starts to turn or the signal to commence firing has been given.

 

     

Sitting:The buttocks must be on the ground with the body facing the target. Hand may be extended to the rear for support, wlbow may not touch the ground. Back cannot rest on the ground and one or both knees may be raised. Arm or arms, hand or hands may be supported on or by the knees. The gun may be held by one or both hands, but may not be supported or steadied bei either foot.

prone : B ody extended on the ground parallel to the line of sight, head toward the target. "Roll-over" prone position may be used as long as the body is extended on the ground generally parallel to the line of sight and the position does not interfere with another competitor.

T he gun may not touch the ground, but may be supported by one or by both hands which may touch the ground, and which are extended towards the target. The competitor assumes the prone position from the sitting position and the gun must be pointing "down range" during the process of changing position.

Kneeling:a) kneeling on one knee, the other knee extended toward the target. Buttocks may be on the heel or side of foot but cannot touch the ground. One arm may be supported on the forward knee. The gun may be held by one or two hands.

   

b) Kneeling on both knees, the buttocks clear the ground  but may rest on the heels. The gun may be held by one or two hands.

Range Operations

cylinders open:Unless revolvers or pistols are holstered or cased, cylinders must be open at all times and / or slides locked open and magazine removed -

revolvers and pistols unloaded:Guns will not be loaded until the competitor has taken position at the firing point and the comand "LOAD" has been given

 loaded revolvers or pistols:A revolver or pistol that has a cartridge in the cylinder shall be considered as being loaded. A semi-automatic pistol which has the slide in the closed position and / or magazine inserted will be considered as loaded. No revolver or pistolwill be loaded untill the competitor has taken their place at the firing line and the comand "LOAD" has been given by the Range Officer.

changing revolvers or pistols:No competitor will change their revolvers or pistol or interchange parts during the firing of any Match (except aggregate Matches), unless it has become disabled and has been so designated by the range officer. Claim that a revolver or pistol isdisabled must be made immediately. All shots fired up to time the claim is made will stand as part of the official score.

disabled revolver or pistol:A disabled revolver or pistol i s one that a) cannot be safely aimed or fired b) has suffered damage so that it cannot be fired or will not  function properly c) has suffered the loss of a sight or visible damage to the sight or sights. The fact that the sights are improperly adjusted does not constitute disablement. Agun oncedeclared disabled by the Range Officer shall not be used for competitive firing until the defect has been corrected and the firearm has been ruled as safe by the Range Officer.

  -

re-firing:No re-fires will be allowed for defective guns, ammunition or for malfunctions of cempetitiors equipment. A competitor may clear jams or malfunctions and replace the neccessarycartridge(s) provided all safety precautions are taken. Completing a string of firein this manner will not consitute a re-fire. No additional time will be allowed. A loaded magazine ca be substituted for dropped catridge(s), also in case of a misfire or malfunction.

 when the firing of a string has been interrupted by some occurence which renders it impossible for one or more sompetitors to complete the string under some conditions of the Match, the Official Referee will proceed as follows: Without beeing permitted to axamine their targets, competitiors in the relay who have been prevented from completing their strings and who have elected to re-fire the stage, targets will be pasted or new targets substituted and a complete string will be fired and scored.

Reasosns authorizing this precedure are:

1. failure to allow full time

2. failure of targets to operate properly or unformly the entire string

3. failure of paper target to remain in position on frame

4. damage to target rendering impossible proper aiming or scoring

5. appearance of some object in line of firing constituting a hazard

6. some accident involving Range Personnel or competitor on firing line.

Holsters

A conventional right- or left-handed holster must be used.

 For safety reasons, shoulder, cross draw, or holsters which require releasing by insertion of finger within the trigger guard will not be allowed.

Semi-Automatic pistol holsters: must completely cover the trigger if competition allows starting pistol Matches in condition "cocked and locked".

Weighting Triggers 

Triggers may be wighted with trigger test wights, at the discretion of the Match Director. Official Referee, Jury or Suprevisor; except triggers or revolvers and semi-automatic pistols used in establishing national records shall be wighted by an tournament official immediately after firing of such record score and must meet the specifications for the firearm prescribed by the tournament program.

Failure of the trigger to meet trigger pill specifications shall disqualify the competitor in matches previously fired.

While trigger pull is being weighted, the gunshall be held with the barrel perpedicular to the horizontal surface on which the test wight is supported. The rod or hook of test weight shall rest on lowest pointof the curve in curved triggers or on a point approximately 1/4 of an inch (6,35mm) from the lower end of straight triggers.

 

 To pass the weight test, a weight of correct number of pounds (Gramms) shall be lifted by the revolver or pistol trigger while all safety devices are in firing position from the horizontal surface on which it is resting, until the weight hangs free and without releasing the trigger.

Guns must be unloaded while trigger is being weighted.

Competitors will be permitted to adjust triggers which have failed to pass the weight test provided they do not delay the match.

Failure of trigger to pass the weight test is the competitors responsibility.

Disqualifications

Disqualification:The Match Director, Oficial Referee, Jury or Supervisor upon proper presentation of evidence, may disqualify any competitor or order his expulsion from the range for violation of Rules or for other conduct they consider discreditable or unsafe. In the event of a disagreement between Match Officials, the Official Referee or Jury shall prevail at the match with recourse only to the Protest Committee.

Safety Violations:Any of the following safety violations may result in disqualification from a match. An accumulation of two such safety violations in any single match requires automatically disqualification from that match and may result in disqualification from the tournament.

1. pointing an unloaded firearm up range or at another competitor or range personnel

2. dropping an unloaded firearm

3. Leaving the firing line with a loaded firearm

4. picking up a dropped firearm, except under the direction of a tournament official

5. any accidental discharge. This does not include rounds fired down range over the established time limit, but does include discharges while loading or clearing a firearm

6. any other action which a tournament official reasonably believes constitutes unsafe or incompetent gun handling, which in any way poses a potential danger to any person or which evidences a reckless or negligent disregard for commonly recognized safety practices

Disqualification Violations:The commission of a disqualification violation in any match requires automatic disqualification from that match and may result indisqualification from the tournament. Disqualification violations include, but are not nessessarily limited to, the following:

1. pointing a loaded firearm up range or at a competitor or range personell

2. Dropping a n loaded firearm

3. Any shot in the holster, into a barricade, into the ground less than six feet down range from the firing line, into air or which strikes a side wall / beam or ceiling.

4. The consumption of or being under the influence of alcoholic beverages or drugs while competing in a match tournament

5. Any other action which a tournament official reasonably believes constitutes unsafe or incompetent gun handling and which poses a danger to any person or which evidences a reckless disregard for the safety of self or others.

Classification

1) the classification system.: gives you the chance to compete against "same level" shooters. gives you the chance to win class awards. allows to win "over all" categorie.

2 ) wa1500 international  classification :is based on results of mainmatch 1500 (if open for either pistol and revolver) if there is no mainmatch but revolver 1500 / auto 1500, the competitor has to declare (bevore he starts his matches), which of both results shall be sent to classification

3) Reporting Scores:wa1500 competition sponsors will report to the wa1500 fired scores  as shown in number 2. Sending results can be done by sending a web-adress where result-list can be found.

• 4) national classification:for national Classification purposes members of wa1500 may have other rules

• 5) wa1500 world ranking list: see "wa1500 classification" If to be enlisted, you need at least three results, no break ´more than nine month between. If you have four results or more, the best three will be counted. The average of that three of four best bill be your ranking in wa1500 world list

• 6) wa1500 individual classification:in his first competition a shooter will compete as "unclassified" or as "high master", depends on sponsor of competition. in 2nd competition you will be classified "temporary". Your class depends on result of 1st competition. after two results 150shot the competitor will be classified according following individual classification Table

• If he got two scores over a "borderline", he will "climb up" into that class.

7) obsolete classification and score: Marksman, Sharpshooter and Expert Classification will become obsolete, if the competitor does not fire at least once during three succesive years.

High Master, Distinguished Master and Master classification becomes obsolete if a competitor does not fire at least once during five succesive years.

8) competing in a higher class:Any Individual or Team may elect before firing in a tournament, to compete in a higher class than the one in which classified. Such individual or Team must fire in the higher classification troughout the entire tournament and not revert to original earned classification for any Match in the tournament.

9) moving in another class by tournament director: When there are insufficient entries in any class to warrant an award in that class according to the Tournament Program, the Individual or Team concerned may be moved by the Tournament Director to a higher class provided this change is made prior to the Individual or Team concerned having commenced firing in the tournament.

• 10) wa1500 team classification:Teams are classified by computing the "team average" based on the classification of each firing member of the team.To compute this "team average" the key in the following table for the different classes will be used and the team total divided by the number of firing members of the team. Any fractional figure in the "team average" of 1/2 or moren will place the team in the next higher class.

Targets

The origin ppc target is the NRA B27 and NRA B34 (reduced target to simulate 50 meter/yds Stages at 25 m/yds)This target shows a human sihouette and so it is forbidden to be used for civilian shooting sports in some countries.So some countries designed similar targets, which are "political correct". One of this alternative are the German and Swedish PPC target, which is meanwhile used by few members of wa1500.All results on B27 or similar targets are okay for Classification and top/ranking list database provided the size of scoring ringes etc. is the same as on the B27 target.

Scoring

Visible shots and close groups As a general rule only those hits which are visible, will be scored. An exeption will be made in the case where the groupings of 3 or more shots are so close that it is possible for a required shot or shots to have gone through the enlarged hole without leaving a mark and there is no evidence that a shot or shots have gone elsewhere than trough the assigned target.

In such case, the shooter will be given the benefit of the doubt and scored hits for the non-visible shots, on the assumption the apssed trough the enlarged hole.

If such assumption should place a non-visible hit in either two scoring rings, it shall be scored in the higher-valued ring.

All shots count: All shots fired by the competitor after he has taken position at the firing point will be counted in his score, even if accidentally discharged.

How to score: A shot hole, the leaded edge of which  which come´s in contact with the outside of a scoring ring will be awarded the higher value (see right). A overlay must be used to determine the value of close shots.

Hits on the wrong target are scored as misses

Early or late shots: If any shots are fired at the target before the starting signal or signal to cease firing, the shots of highest value equal to the number fired in error will be scored as misses.

MISSES Shots outside the scoring rings are scored as misses.

Score Card

Scorecards :will be prepared by the Statistical Office and delivered to the competitior who will return the scorecard over to the scorer at the appropriate time.-

Erasures:on scorecards are not permitted. If corrections is necessary, it must be made and initialed by the scorer or Range Officer. To make corrections, the scorer or Range Officer draws a line or lines trough the incorrect score and places the correct score above.

Scorer:evaluate the hits on the "legend" of target (in the upper right corner of the target) until he completely evaluates the target, determines and enters the shots values andrecords the proper number of hits value in the space provided on scorecard. Finally sign the scorecard.

Shooter:review the evaluation of the shots on the target and compare the recorded hits on the scorecard with the target and review the score-card for complete entries and accuracy of the hits recorded, making sure that they are of the correct value and that required number of hits for the match are enlistedsign the scorecard as competitor if the hits and shot values are properly evaluated and recorded, acknowledging acceptance of the score as it appears at the scorecard or writes challenged in place of his signature if a shot(s) value is questionable or if there is another reason to "challenge". In both cases bring scorecard (if challenged, bring also targets) to statistical office. Bring it as soon as possible. In some competitions you must bring it within 30 minutes.

Coaching

Coaching Individual Matches: Coaching is prohibited in all individual matches  of registered Competitions.

Coaching Team Matches: In fired team matches (the 60 round course –match 5 of the 150-shot course): Coaching is permitted within the team only. Each competitor may have a coach in fired team matches. No optical devices other than binoculars may be used. The Coach assists team members by calling shots, checking time, checking score, ordering sight changes, etc., but must so control voice and actions as not to disturb other competitors.The coach will not physically assist in loading, or making sight corrections

 Position of Team Coach: In fired team matches the coach will be allowed on the firing line between and slightly to the rear of the shooter. In such position as not to interfere with the proper operation of the range or with any other members of another team. Coach may not be positioned to serve as sunshade or windbreak / -shield.

duties of team-coach:The Team Coach is the Team Captain´s deputy performing such duties as the Captain may assign to him / her. The Coach serves as Team Captain in the absence of the latter, and under such circumstances becomes responsible for maintaining discipline within the team and for all other responsibilities of the Team Captain.
