circumstance n. обстоятельство, случай; under/in no circumstances ни при каких условиях, никогда;

guess v. угадать, отгадать; I guess so/ not думаю(полагаю) да/нет

patch v. латать, чинить; to patch up sth уладить что-либо to patch up a quarrel уладить ссору;

patch n. заплата, обрывок, лоскут; a patch of dirt/ice кусок грязи/льда; good/ interesting/boring in patches хороший /интересный /нудный местами (иногда)

amazement n. удивление, изумление; in amazement с удивлением; to my amazement к моему удивлению.

amaze v. удивлять, изумлять, поражать.

Exercise 5. Adjectives can be made by adding the suffix -like to nouns, as doglike, meaning like a dog or in the manner of a dog. Make adjectives by adding -like to the following nouns and use the in sentences:

Swan, man, moon, coward, ghost.

Exercise 6. In the following words re-=again: reappear, re-read, rewrite, re-enter, refill, remake, reconsider, reorganize. Give your own examples.

Exercise 7. Amazement and enjoyment are made by adding

the suffix –ment to verbs. Form nouns from the following verbs by adding –ment and make up short sentences to show what they mean:

disappoint, agree, arrange, amuse, announce, employ, astonish.

To help you remember which proposition of time to use, try to memorise this: on Monday, in winter, at that time

On= for specific days, in=for time periods, at= for specific times

Note: last month, every March, next day, this morning. We don’t use a preposition with some time expressions this/last/next/every morning, week, year etc.
