3.6 . Examine Figures 1.4 and 1.5 and listen to their explanations. Research degrees and teachers appointments are given according to the tradition of the two countries (Lithuania and Belarus). The explanations of each scheme are given by representatives of each university. Compare these traditions.

3.7. Listen and repeat after the speaker the names of sciences which are used in the register of the Higher Certifying Commission. (The Higher Certifying Commission is a structure is the Academy of Sciences of the country. It monitors the procedure of defending PhDs and other scientific degrees if any).
