Exercise 2 Use the elements in brackets to complete the following sentences with Objective Infinitive construction (Complex Object). Pay attention to sentences 5 and 6 which have a Passive meaning

Exercise 4 Paraphrase the following sentences using Complex Objects with ing-forms

Exercise 5 Complete the story with ing-forms

Exercise 9 Read this entry in a personal diary. Underline all the verb + infinitive and the verb + object + infinitive combinations. Translate the text

Annie advised me to join a club or take a class, and I finally did it! / decided to join the school's Outdoor Adventure Club, and I went to my first meeting last night. I'm really excited about this. The club is planning a hiking trip next weekend. I definitely want to go. I hope it won t be too hard for my first adventure. Last night they also decided to go rafting in the spring. At first I didn't want to sign up, but the leader was so nice. He urged me not to miss this trip, so I put my name on the list. After the meeting, a group of people asked me to go out with them. We went to a coffee shop and talked for hours. We, I hoped to make some new friends when I joined this club, but I didn’t expect everyone to be so friendly. I'm glad Annie persuaded me not to give up.

Multi-Use Technology: When 1+1=more than 2

You can use it __________ instant pictures home to your family. You can use it __________ your friends. But a camera phone is so much more than just a camera plus phone! When the first model came out in 2000, some people (like me) thought, "Why do I need it?" Now, millions of people around the world ask, "How did I live without one?"

Megan uses hers __________ instant advice on shopping trips. "If I'm shopping for a new sweater, and my friends aren't with me, I take a few pictures, send them, and ask, 'Which one?'"
