Chapter IV Wheel loader lifting and transportation instruction
1. Wheel loader lifting
When lifting is needed, use hanging hook to hitch the lifting eye, adjust the length of the rope before lifting, make sure the machine is basically horizontal and all the hooks are secured.(See Figure 4-1)
Figure 4-1 Wheel Loader Lifting
2. Transportation of Wheel loader
When flat truck or similar vehicle is used to transport the wheel loader, iron chains are needed to fasten to chassis of the machine to prevent it from jumping and waving. In order to prevent the machine from moving forward/backward, secure the anti-pivot linkage and use triangle brackets to block the wheels. And then secure with steel wire.(See Figure 4-2)
The transportation of the wheel loader should be in compliance with traffic rules. Disassembly is not allowed during the transportation.
Figure 4-2 Transportation of wheel loader
3. Ocean transportation of wheel loader
For ocean transportation, the wheel loader should be disassembled into bucket, two oil tanks, four tires and the machine body. The parts must be fastened on the shipment brackets, while the body, linkage and lift arm should also be fastened to bracket. The placement of those disassembled parts depends on the encasement condition of the main parts.(See Figure4-3)
Figure 4-3 Shipment of Wheel Loader Chapter 5 Periodic maintenance
Maintenance should be done periodically (every 50, 200, 600, 1200, 2400 hours).
Period |
What to do |
Every 50 hours (Weekly) |
1. Fasten the connecting bolts on front & rear drive shafts. 2. Check oil level in the brake booster pump. 3. Check transmission oil level. 4. Check and lubricate the throttle control mechanism, parking brake and transmission control system. 5. Grease the fan shaft, the articulated point of front & rear frames, drive shafts, the oscillating suspension, etc. |
Every 200 hours(Monthly) |
1. Check the tightness of bolts that connect the rim and brake disc. 2. Check oil level in front & rear axles. 3. Clean the air cleaner. 4. Clean the engine oil filter, fuel filter and transmission oil filter. 5. Measure air pressure of tire. The pressure should be 2.7-3.1 bar (2.8-3.2 kg/cm2). 6. Measure the electrolyte level in the battery and refill if necessary. Clean the surface of battery. Coat thin Vaseline on the pole connectors. 7. Check the main welds and the fixing bolts on implement, front/rear frames and oscillating suspension for crack and looseness. |
Every 600 hours(Quarterly) |
1. Replace with new transmission oil. Clean the screen in oil pan. 2. Fasten the connecting bolts between the frames and axles. 3. Check and adjust the clearance of the parking brake. 4. Add new oil in the steering gear. 5. Change engine oil. |
Every 1200 hours (Semiyearly) |
1. Change the gear oil in the front & rear axles. 2. Change the hydraulic oil. Clean the screen in oil tank. 3. Clean and check brake. Change the brake fluid. Jack the frame and turn the wheels to make sure the brake is reliable. 4. Clean the screen of fuel tank. |
Every 2400 hours(Yearly) |
1. Service the engine according to the engine user’s manual. 2. Disassemble and inspect the transmission and torque converter. 3. Disassemble and inspect the front/rear axles, differentials. 4. Disassemble and inspect the steering gear and steering valve. Calibrate the turning angle. 5. Pay attention to the drift of implement cylinder. Check the seals in distributor valve and implement cylinder, measure the operating pressure of the system. If the drift is more than two times of the specified value, disassemble and inspect the cylinder and distributor valve. 6. Check each weld in the implements and frames for crack. Check the tightness of bolts and nuts. 7. Check the welds in rim and the force bearing parts. Correct the deformation. |
