Laughs parade Danger for Infantry

A patrolman on a reconnaissance mission met a resident boy.

“Hello, boy, would you tell me if there is a bridge across that river near by?”

“Yes, there is.”

“Can tanks cross there?”

“Sure, they can.”

“Good,” said the patrolman with satisfaction. “Then infantry can cross here too.”

“No,” exclaimed the boy. “Infantry can’t move over the bridge.”

“Why?”

“Because there is an angry dog at the bridge.”

Gangsterers’ Habits

When new replacements came in the Adjutant reported to the battalion commander.

“Sir, these new men in our outfit (подразделение) have a strange habit. Every time they fire their guns, they wipe off their finger prints with their handkerchiefs.”

“And what state are they from?”

“Texas, sir.”

Verbal Orders

Sergeant Tompkins, the Company Sergeant, caught sight of a private walking across the lawn in the barracks yard. “Now, Private Smith, you know very well none but officers and NCO’s are allowed to walk across this grass.”

Private Smith tried to explain his violation of the regulations: “But I’ve Captain’s verbal orders to …”

The sergeant snapped: “None of that! Show me the Captain’s verbal orders ! Show ‘em to me!!!”
