Many schools today are organizing special group trips for their students. What is your opinion about them?

Nowadays schools tend to arrange different student excursions more and more often. These activities are believed to be beneficial for children who usually enjoy going on them. Yet, there is still a concern that the traditional way of learning in classrooms is much better. (44)

In my opinion, having spent some time visiting sights, young people can broaden their horizons and enjoy themselves. From my own experience, I can say that it is a great pleasure to see historical places, investigate them and acquire new knowledge. Moreover, a group trip enables the whole class to escape from dull, busy school days and try something completely different. The more teenagers travel, the more sociably friendly they become. (69)

However, some people are sure that schools should work as they used to. It is possible for students to learn a lot from reading scientific articles and doing exercises with teachers. Supporters of this view say that trips interfere with the efficient educational system and give youngsters excessive freedom. (49)

I personally cannot agree with the second idea, as excursions today are the best way for schoolchildren to explore the marvelous world. They inspire students to learn various materials and work hard at school. In fact, conducted tours bring curiosity to our minds and show people an alternative way of studies. (51)

Taking everything into account, I should say that school trips contribute a lot to one’s cultural development and soon are likely to grow into an important part of the learning process. (31)
