9.3. The procedure of current and final knowledge evaluation
Since discipline is studied during the semester with final control in the form of the exam, the total final score is the average score of the results of monitoring and the results of the exam.
Maximum score for the current control of knowledge is 100 points, for the exam - 100, the final score - 100 points.
The purpose of this control is to provide a systematic work of students on the study of discipline, identify the level of theoretical knowledge and practical skills, deepen knowledge through independent work and individual training.
For the current control the following types of training are used:
А. Modular control of knowledge:
The first – theme 8.
The second – theme 9.
В. Essays on the history of statistics.
Presentations of selected topics of the course and of the results of individual tasks.
The final evaluation of students' knowledge on discipline is carried out during examinations. The test is conducted in writing within two academic hours. Examination ticket includes four tasks, two of them theoretical and two sums. Each task of the test paper is evaluated separately on a scale: 30, 20, 10 and 0 points.
For the evaluation of the responses of students on theoretical issues, the following criteria is used:
- excellent level (20 points) - complete answers of the student to questions in accordance with the program of the course;
- satisfactory level (10 points) means that student learnt only general concepts of discipline;
- unsatisfactory level (0 points) - student doesn't know the basic concepts, methodology and tools of statistical modeling and forecasting.
For evaluation of the results of solving the problem the following criteria are used:
- excellent level (30 points) - grounding of the methods of problem solution and meaningful interpretation of the results;
- satisfactory level (10 points) means the arithmetic solution of the problem without grounding of the methods of calculating and without interpreting of the final results;
- unsatisfactory level (0 points) - no calculations or wrong answer.

1. The theoretical part
1. The concept of mode and median in statistics (20)
1.1. State the nature of mode, show the formula for the calculation of the mode, explain how to calculate it for the interval row of distribution (10)
1.2. State the nature of median, show the formula for the calculation of the median, explain how to calculate it for the interval row of distribution (10)
2. The analysis of the average level of qualitative indicator (20)
2.1. Give the formula of indexes of variable composition, fixed structure and structural changes of average unit cost (10)
