Тема 30. Эмфатические конструкции

1. It + to be + объект + союз (именно, не кто иной, как)

It was Popov who invented the radio.

Именно Попов изобрел радио. Не кто иной, как Попов, изобрел радио.

2. Глагол do/did перед смысловым глаголом в утвердительном предложении (действительно, несомненно, безусловно, - таки, же)

He did explain this phenomenon.

Он – таки объяснил это явление.

3. Двойное отрицание дает утверждение

His experiments are not illegal.

Его эксперименты вполне законны.

4. Инверсия (обратный порядок слов)

Were this theory true, I would get an award.

Была бы эта теория истинной, я бы получил награду.
