The Future Continuous Tense

Майбутній тривалий час виражає майбутню дію у процесі її здійснення, тобто незавершену тривалу дію. Перекладається майбутній тривалий час дієсловом у майбутньому часі недоконаного виду.

Майбутній тривалий час вживається для вираження тривалої дії, яка почнеться до визначеного моменту у майбутньому і в той момент все ще буде тривати або у певний відрізок часу.

Момент здійснення дії може бути вказаний:

1. визначенням часу типу: at 5 o’clock, at that moment, all day long etc.

2. іншою майбутньою дією. Потрібно відзначити, що у підрядних реченнях часу і умови майбутній тривалий і майбутній неозначений часи не вживаються. У цих випадках замість них вживається теперішній тривалий (Present Continuous) і теперішній неозначений (Present Indefinite).

Наприклад,

I shall be working at 5 o’clock. - Я буду працювати о 5.

I’ll be working when he returns. - Я буду працювати, коли він повернеться.

If he is sleeping when you come, wake him up.

Майбутній тривалий час утворюється:

Стверджувальні речення

I, we shall be V+ing

he, she, it, you, they will be V+ing

He will be doing his homework at 6 tomorrow

Заперечні речення

I, we shan’t be V+ing

he, she, it, you, they won’t be V+ing

He won’t be doing his homework at 6 tomorrow

Питальні речення

Wh shall I, we be V+ing?

Wh will he, she, it, you, they be V+ing?

When will he be doing his homework?
