X. Read and retell the text: Academy buildings and chairs
The main building of the Academy is in 38, Cubiyovich Street. It houses Administration:
Rector’s and Pro-Rector’s Offices, Manager оf Development, Chief Accountant’s Office, Reception (Secretary), the Academic Library, the Academy Museum, and the Academy Hall, there the sittings of the Academic Board are held.
In the main building there is also the chair of Painting, the chair of the Humanities, the chair of the History and Theory of Art, a few classrooms and a studio.
The laboratory building (in front of the main building) houses the Dean’s Office, specialized chairs and their laboratories, the chair of Art Ceramics, the chair of Art Glass, the chair of Art Clothes Design, the chair of Art Textiles, and the chair of Metal work.
Close by main building the faculty of Interior Design and Outfit is housed. There is the Dean’s Office, the chair of Sculpture, the chair of Interior Design, the chair of Furniture, the chair of Art Wood Carving and the workshops.
In the last years there were opened new professions and new chairs: the chair of Graphics, the chair of Restoration, the chair of Sacral Art. There is also the Minor Academy for tаlеnted children.
The chair of Foreign Languages and Literature is in 30, Crymska Street. It organizes classes in English, German, French, Spanish and Latin languages. It also offers an extended course of the Ukrainian Language and Stylistics. Same students voluntarily learn a second language of their choice.
An Academy graduate is conferred a diploma. According to the New Educational Law the graduate is entitled to the Magister of Art degree. Later he may continue to take the Master’s Degree by theses or research or the Degree of Doctor.

XII. Read and retell the text: Study work
The leading professors of our academy are academician Andryi Bokotey (blown glass), Lubomyr Medvid (monumental painting), Oleh Minko (art textile), Yakym Zapasko, Volodymyr Ovsiychuk (art criticism), Roman Vasylyk (sacral art), Oleh Bonkovsky (art metal) and others. The course of studies at the Academy runs for six years. The academic year consists of two terms with three weeks vacation in winter and six weeks vacation in summer. Every day we have three or four lectures and classes in specialized or related subjects. Моst of them are сompulsary only some are optional. We study the history and theory of art, philosophy, antique literature, painting, drawing, technology, composition, anatomy, one of the foreign languages.
We have labs in specialized subjects and seminars on philosophy. At the end of each term we have assessment or Terminals and at the end оf the course of learning we have finals.
Prior to the assessment we exhibit our creative course works for the assession by the Academic Board. To get students grants one must pass the examinations successfully. In the sixth year we support the diploma project. Often graduate students do outside projects for commerce or manufacture.
To do research one can take a postgraduate course of learning.
