Hello Kapchagay team!)

Let's meet at 9:30am on Abay Avenue and Valikhanov Street. The bus driver will be waiting for us there.

Please take enough food (fruit, vegetables, sandwiches, dried fruit, cookies, etc) and drinks (water, juice, iced tea, etc) for yourself and a bit more for the "round table", to share with others:).

In addition, please take a rug/blanket/large towel to sit on, a towel to dry yourself up after swimming, sunglasses, a cap, a sunblock lotion to prevent you from sunburning, a pair of slippers to walk on the hot sand, any games we can play on the beach, a fan if you have one (perhaps you will use it on the bus), a camera, some money,...

  1. Why is Mrs. Vane worried about Sibyl and James?

  2. Why is James angry with Sibyl?

  3. Why does Sibyl call Dorian “Charming Prince”?

  4. Why does James wish he had seen Dorian in the park?

  • So, guys, we have read “The Scarlet Letter”. Now just lean back and think about the whole story. What do you think about the end of the story? If you were writing this story, would you change the end somehow? Also, was it possible for Hester and Arthur to do something different to make their and Pearl’s lives happier? If you were Hester or Arthur, how would you behave? Please think about these questions and write your answers in one or two paragraphs (Times New Roman, size 12, double space).

  • Listen to the story called The Sleeping Hollow written by W. Irwing (our folder). What is this story about? What is the main idea of this story? Did you like the story? Why “yes” or “no”? Please type your answers and bring to class.

  • Diary: describe two events that happened to you on Saturday and Sunday (write what and why happened and how they influenced you and other people).

For Tuesday, August 28:

  • Please find the rules and mixed exercises on the Present Simple and Present Continuous tenses; Past Simple and Past Continuous tenses. Please review the rules and do the exercises to practice your use of English (your writing skills and understanding of the use of English will be better if you do exercises on different mixed tenses).
