Robotics Today
With the enhanced functions of computer software and hardware, the introduction of computers for industry automation becomes more common. Robots combine computer intelligence, modern sensors, and manipulator arms to provide flexible devices that can economically increase the productivity of manufacturing processes. The use of computers, sensors, and mechanical actuators or manipulators in manufacturing systems has been a subject of study and application for several decades. Manually controlled manipulator’s of space systems and for nuclear fuel control have been designed and implemented for many years.
Robotics has been incorporating the latest achievements of mechanics, metallurgy, radio engineering, cybernetics and basic sciences. Our industry is launching many models of robots of various purposes for metal-cutting machine tools, tie casting machines, and several models of transfer arms for electrochemical facing production lines.
Today, robotic systems, lines and modules are operating at the leading plants of the motor, electrical engineering, watch-making and machine-tool industries. Hundreds of research and design institutions, enterprises and associations have been contributing to implementing robotization programs.
