  2. Realization of noun categories.

2.2. Case category. Different case theories of English noun.

2.3. Category of Gender. Views on the category of Gender in the theory of grammar.

2. Identify meanings rendered by the following geni­tives. Use transformations to elucidate these meanings.

Model: N's + N1 N1 + of + N2: John's book --- the book

of John - possessive genitive;

N's + N1 N1 + Ven+ by + N2 : Pushkin's book— a book written by Push­kin - authorship genitive;

N's + N1--- N + V : John's arrival--- John arrived - subjective genitive.
