1. Read these advertisements.

Where can you find advertisements like these?

Are there any suitable adverts for the passengers from page 25?

2. Read the advertisements again carefully and answer these questions.

Which type of accommodation is the most expensive?

Which is the cheapest?

Which is the noisiest and why?

In which types of accommodation can people do their own cooking?

Which type of accommodation would you like and why?

3. Listen to two passengers asking about accommodation and complete the table using + (yes), - (no).

4. Write about the two people. Consider these points as you write.

1. Look at Conversation A below. Listen to the recording and complete the sentences.

Listen to Conversation B again with a partner; have a similar conversation asking about hotel room prices.

3. Work with a partner.

Read Conversation B below and the Studios Inn Price List. Then, ask and answer similar questions with Does it have…? / Do you have…?

Large hotels usually prefer payment by credit card, and you can assume that rooms will have facilities like a bathroom, color TV, and direct-dial telephone. In small hotels you may have to ask about things like these:

Room Service/ Sports Room/ Business Services/ Pool/ Air Conditioning/ Jacuzzi/ Non-Smoking Rooms/ Hair Dryer/ Color TV/ Satellite TV/ Telephone/ Fax Machine.

Role-play

  1. You’ve just arrived at the airport. Work with your partner who will be the information officer and find suitable accommodation for yourself.
