Short tapered styles - «Flat top» and short cuts

Starting with the longest attachment comb №4 (12mm), cut from the back of the neck to the crown. Hold the attachment comb flat against the head’ and slowly move the clipper through the hair.

Cut the hair against the direction in which it grows from the front to the crown and then level the cut with the sides.

To give a «flat top» look, the hair on top of the head must be cut over the top of a flat comb rather than by using the attachment comb.

Use closer cutting attachment combs to taper the hair down to the neckline as desired. Comb hair and check for uneven areas and outlining sideboards and neckline as described previously.

•If the mains cord of this appliance is damaged, it must only be replaced by a service representative, as special tools and/or parts are required.

•The kettle will switch off automatically when the water is boiling. You can switch the kettle off before boiling by manually using the on/off switch.

•After the kettle has switched off automatically (or has been switched off manually) it will need some time to cool down. After 15-20 sec, the kettle can be switched on again.

•The kettle is protected against damage, due to operation with insufficient water, by means of a safety cut-out. This cuts off the power when the heating element gets too hot.

•If the kettle ever runs dry while operating, allow to cool down for 15 minutes before refilling with cold water The safety cut-out will automatically reset.

•Place the appliance on a stable flat surface. Ensure that the kettle cannot fall into water.

•Never immerse the kettle in water. Do not allow water to penetrate the electrical parts inside the kettle.

•Prevent children from pulling the mains cord or knocking the kettle over.

•Before cleaning the kettle make sure the kettle is disconnected from the power supply and has fully cooled down.

•The kettle may be cleaned with a damp cloth.

•Pour away the very first water boiled with this kettle. The appliance is then ready for use.

How to use the kettle

Filling

•Lift the kettle off the power base before filling.

•You can fill the kettle via the spout or after opening the lid (Do not forget to close the lid after filling!)

Do not fill with less than 0.45 litres of water

(= 1.5 cups, or up to «MIN» indication) to prevent the kettle running dry while operating.

Do not fill with more than 1.7 litres of water

(up to «MAX» indication) Avoid overfilling to prevent boiling water being ejected via the spout.

Switching on

•Put the kettle back on the power base.

Switching off

•When the water has boiled the appliance will switch off automatically The on/off switch will have sprung back into the original position.

Switching on again?

•You can switch the kettle on again, once the built-in thermal safety switch has had enough time to cool down.

If the on/off switch is still «OFF» (automatically), do not force it into «ON’ position as, this will seriously damage the operating mechanism.

Cleaning

•First read the instructions in the section «Important».

•Soap or detergent can be used to remove troublesome stains. Avoid using aggressive and abrasive cleaning agents.

Descaling

Descale the kettle regularly. With normal use: at least twice a year.

•Fill the kettle up to «MAX» with ordinary vinegar and boil Then switch off or wait for the appliance to switch off automatically.

•Let the vinegar remain inside the kettle overnight.

•Throw the vinegar away the next morning.

•Fill the kettle with clean water up to «MAX» and boil again.

•Throw away this boiled water to remove any remaining scale and vinegar.

•Rinse the inside of the kettle with clean water.

Instructions for use

Before use

Read these instructions fully and keep them for later reference. Check that the mains voltage is compatible with the appliance (220-240 Volts). This appliance must be connected to an earthed socket.

The Princess Royal Cordless Water Kettle boils water quickly. It is practical to use as it detaches from the stand. The handgrip has robust ‘soft-touch’ finder-grips and incorporates an on/off indicator lamp. The appliance has a built-in thermostat and boil-dry protection. The hinged lid cannot be misplaced. The level indicator clearly shows how much water is in the kettle.

Use of the cordless kettle

The kettle is intended for boiling water only. Do not use for other fluids or solutions. When the appliance is first used, it should be cleaned by boiling a full kettle of water which is then thrown away.

Always fill the kettle between the minimum and maximum marks.

Too little water can result in the kettle switching off prematurely, and too

much may result in the kettle boiling over. Always remove the kettle from its’ stand during filling to avoid spilling water here. Switch on the kettle by pushing in the on/off button in the handgrip. The indicator lamp will light up.

The on/off button springs automatically back to the off position when the water boils.

If you wish to re-boil the water, wait at least 30 seconds before pushing the button to the ON position.

If the kettle is accidentally switched on whilst empty, the boil-dry protection will automatically switch it off. Subsequently filling the kettle with water cools the protection so the kettle is again ready for normal use.

Cleaning

BEFORE CLEANING DISCONNECT FROM THE MAINS AND ALLOW TO COOL.

The outside of the PRINCESS ROYAL CORDLESS WATERKETTLE can be wiped with a damp cloth. The kettle stand must always be kept dry, even during cleaning.

Descaling

Use a descaling product intended for household appliances (such as coffee makers) and follow the instructions on the package. Do not switch on the kettle during descaling.

The descaler should be applied in cold water. After descaling rinse the kettle a few times with clean water.

Princess royal tips

•Place the appliance on a firm and stable surface.

•Never immerse the appliance in the water or their liquid.

•Always lift the kettle by the handgrip as the outside gets quite hot.

•Ensure that the appliance is not placed so close to the edge of the table, worktop, etc. that it may be knocked off, and that the electrical lead does not hang in such a way that it may be caught or tripped over. Remember that the kettle is filled with hot water.

Longhair trimming

To use pop-out longhair trimmer 4, push switch 3 all the way up to setting «longhair trimmer».

The longhair trimmer allows easy and exact trimming of the side burns (d). The longhair trimmer can be switched on and off during shaving.

Switching the shaver off

Push the «on/off» switch 1 back all the way to setting «off».

Important: After every shave replace the foil protection cap 7 on the foil frame 6.

Cleaning and maintenance

After every shave, remove the foil frame 6 (e) and tap out lightly. Brush out the cutter block 5 with the cleaning brush 8 (f). Do not clean the shaving foil 6 with the cleaning brush to avoid damaging it. Approximately every four weeks clean the space between the longhair trimmer 4 and the shaver with the cleaning brush 8.

Clean the cutter block 5 with Braun cleaning spray to maintain your shaver’s top shaving performance and to keep it hygienic.

After every cleaning replace the foil protection cap 7 on the foil frame 6.

Changing the shaving parts

The shaving foil frame 6 should be held at the two grooved surfaces and pulled off (e).

The cutter block 5 can be removed (e.g. for cleaning) by turning it at right angles to the shaver and lifting it off (g).

To replace the cutter block, snap it onto the holding studs (h).

Replace the new foil frame in the right direction (e) until it locks in place.

Buy only original Braun spare parts, especially when replacing the mains lead or the shaving foil frame 6. When buying a new shaving foil frame look for the BRAUN brand and the correct identification number 596 (i).
