Пациент соглашается (to agree with) с доктором, но боится (to be afraid of) боли.

Receptionist :Is this your first time in this office ?
Patient: No, I’m a regular patient.
Receptionist :Go ahead and come in right away.
A little later
Patient: Hi, my name is John O’Brain
Receptionist :Yes , take a seat right here for a moment.
Nurse: Hello. Let me take your temperature and blood pressure.
Patient: Sure.
Nurse: Well, your temperature is a little high, but your blood
pressure is perfect for your age.
Patient: That’s good to hear.
Nurse: The doctor will be right in.
Patient: Thanks.
Doctor: Mr. O’Brain, I hear you’re in pain.
Patient: Yes .I have a stomachache and I feel a little dizzy.
Doctor: Remove your top clothing.
Patient: Right. There we so.
Doctor: That’s fine. Does it hurt if I press here?
Patient: Yes. It hurts there.
Doctor: Take a deep breath in, hold the breath, out. Breathe
normally, please . Thanks. You may put on your clothing. It
doesn’t seem to be anything serious. You probably just have
the flu. There’s a virus going around. Don’t worry about it.
Patient: So, there’s nothing I can do?
Doctor: Go home, rest and drink lots of fluids. If you don’t feel better
in a couple of days , come back to see me.
Patient: Thanks.

Over to you (заметки для вас)
The doctor prescribes medicine and gives us a prescription, which we take to the chemist, (druggist) who makes up the medicine (nowadays there are in the chemist’s shop (drug-store) always ready- made up medicine, and the druggist doesn’t need to make up it, he (she) only sells it). The doctor says usually: « I’ll prescribe some medicine, and you must take the prescription to the demist (druggist). The medicine is sure in every drug-store available. Take the medicine twice (or three times) a day, before (or after) meals (fluid medicine a table-spoon-full).
If you follow the doctor’s order, you get better, but if you disobey (не слушаетесь) the doctor, you get worse and even die.
We must obey the doctor (we must follow the doctor’s orders), if we want to get better.
If we feel unhealthy (poorly, not very well), have a temperature, we must stay in bed (keep our bed, follow a bed regimen),if we cannot get better at home, we must go to hospital. And if we are too ill to walk, we go to hospital in the ambulance.
