Products are made, manufactured or produced in plants. A plant may be referred to as a factory or a works, but these two words are used more for older industries like cars than for newer ones like computers. The process of making things is manufacturing or production. Making large numbers of basically identical goods is mass production. Makers, manufacturers and producers are organizations that make products. Manufacturing is also used when talking about the sector of the economy that makes things.
