7. Suppose you are Dolly de Vries. The gossip about Julia’s affair with Tom have reached your ears. You are upset about Julia’s reputation and jealous at the same time. You tell Michael about your doubts and fears.

8. Give character sketches of the personages of the book: a) Julia; b) Michael; c) Tom Fennel; d) Dolly de Vries. Prove your characteristics by some episodes from the book.
