T.: At home you’ll read the text on p. 17, it’s about one more castle which is located in Scotland. Then you’ll do Ex. 43(b) where you will be given some information about a castle and you’ll have to decide whether this information concerns Blarney Castle or Dunnottar Castle.

Then you write a short article about a famous historic building in our country. You must observe careful paragraphing. On the first paragraph you write its name and location. In the second paragraph, write its historical details. In the third paragraph write a description of its exterior/interior. End your article with a recommendation.

Also you’ll do ex. 36 on page 14. You’ll listen to the tape recorder and complete the form given below.

P4, P2, your mark is 5 today. You coped with all the tasks: you could use the lexical material appropriately, you managed to build your speech logically in role playing game and sounded persuasive, you also grasped the main idea of the listening comprehension text, understood the necessary details. You were successful in anticipating the content of the text and could ask suitable questions concerning the information given in the text.

P1, P5, your mark is 4 today. You worked well with the lexical material, but your speech didn’t totally follow the logical pattern. You grasped the main idea of the listening comprehension text but couldn’t cope with anticipating the content of the text for reading, though the questions you asked concerning the information in the text were quite suitable.

You should work on the coherence of your speech; you should make a plan for yourself and follow it carefully. And try to read more, you know, practice makes perfect.

P3, P6, unfortunately your mark is 3. You weren’t much sure when working with the lexical material. Your speech in role-playing game wasn’t coherent you didn’t follow the pattern I recommended. You failed in getting the main idea of the listening comprehension text and didn’t understand any details of it. Your questions concerning the text for reading weren’t suitable, and you made some mistakes in pronunciation which shouldn’t take place.

You should work harder. Don’t forget that your speech must be logically built, follow the advices I gave to the P1 and P5. You must read more, reading aloud is also important to avoid mistakes in pronunciation.
