A labor market is the place where workers and employees interact with each other. In the labor market, employers compete to hire the best, and the workers compete for the best satisfying job.

A labor market in an economy functions with demand and supply of labor. In this market, labor demand is the firm's demand for labor and supply is the worker's supply of labor. The supply and demand of labor in the market is influenced by changes in the bargaining power.

Labor markets may be local or national (even international) in their scope and are made up of smaller, interacting labor markets for different qualifications, skills, and geographical locations. Read the text using dictionary. Put three questions to the text a contemporary overview labor market of Kazakhstan

Kazakhstan is rich in resources, and active because of the potential mobility of labor is a country in the world. Country gained its independence in the 90’s from the social and economic change. A deep recession in the global economy experienced a period of Kazakhstan, of course, it also affected the world of work. Kazakhstan is not a familiar topic in modern working life enough in our country. Although it is the analysis of operational data in this context, the current labor market, workers' wages, social security and the changing profile of the characteristics of labor migration are explained.

Kazakhstan's labor market is becoming more and more civilized. The candidates are trying to obey the rules of the "game", to build their careers logically, not to spoil their CV, they are getting used to finding job through recruitment agencies. Unfortunately there are cases of people missing arranged interviews or reject job offers the before they were due to start.

While discussing compensation and benefits with employers, many candidates are paying particular attention to education opportunities provided by the company which is a positive trend.

The Kazakh market is becoming notably more open and is already an attraction proposition for foreign investors. Many large international companies have already started operations here while others are planning to enter the market. As for other neighboring countries, the labour markets of Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Azerbaijan are developing well but salaries remain relatively low.

The strengthening of the Custom Union between Kazakhstan, Russia and Belarus will open new opportunities both for business in general and for talent migration. Kazakhstan will need to prepare for increasing competition as international business will set up new business standards and the growing influx of foreign talent will positively affect competition meaning local managers will need to develop their competencies.

According to local legislation, companies continue to replace foreign managers with local ones but usually face difficulties in finding relevant replacements.

The Oil & Gas industry is still a main leverage for the Kazakh economy. There is an opinion that salaries in this sector are incommensurably high, but in order to receive a high income you should be focused on long-term career development. Salaries in junior roles in this sector don’t differ much from other sectors, in comparison to those on a managerial level.

The Banking sector is actively looking for professionals to fill middle level roles such as specialists and managers across different departments. However, this sector is shared between only a few major players and the sector itself develops at a relatively slow rate. The Custom Union development will probably “shake up” the sector.

The number of start-ups is growing especially in construction, service companies in extractive industry, FMCG companies (including the alcohol industry) and others are launching operations. When working on such assignments, we are usually looking initially to fill a business development role with a view to head the local office in future or building the team (sales managers, chief accountant, HR manager and other professionals).

Pharmaceutical sector growth appears to be rapid and medical representatives are in the highest demand. International retail companies are paying close attention to Kazakhstan. The lack of supply of quality but not expensive clothes, food, other consumer goods makes companies to think seriously about opening shops and stores.
