Here are some useful phrases you can use:

1. Introducing the subject

Stating the purpose

- I’d like to talk (to you) today about…

- I’m going to present my report - The subject of my academic paper/my presentation is…

2. Outlining the structure

- I’ve divided my report into… parts/sections. They are… The subject can be looked at under the following headings…
