8. Role of translation companies and agencies on a labor market.
Translation services were at all times one of the most demanded kinds of activity. Their role in public, economic, political and cultural life has the huge value. It is difficult to imagine what would be our history, civilization history if works of great scientists, writers, poets, thinkers, philosophers weren't transferred to world languages and didn't become available to each person. In many respects thanks to translation opportunities various areas of science and creativity gained development and continue to be improved.
Translation services in many respects provided productive movement of process of world globalization. Everywhere between the states there is an exchange of experience, adjustment of foreign communications that improves work of many spheres of activity, lifts them on new, higher level.
Translation services find application, both in the state scale, and in ordinary life of people. Meetings of leaders of the different countries and communities don't take place without participation of professional translators. 24) Education in the sphere of translation. Goal and objectives of translator training.
Main objectives of training:
development of skills of a professional translation and colloquial practice; development of skills of understanding of oral speech of general and business subject, including understanding of the speech of native speakers and perception of the speech from media sources; expansion of an active (applied) lexicon in the Russian and foreign languages; increase of the general level of proficiency by a foreign language.
Main goal of training of the translator is formation of translation competence which is understood as ability to take information from the text in one language and to transfer her by text creation in other language. Professional translation competence is based both on professional knowledge of the expert, and on high level of proficiency in it a native and foreign language.
