A. Abstract
Hiroyuki Suzuki, Masao Suzuki, Naoki Aihara. Durability Evaluation Tests of Mold Resin for Ground Coil.
(Оценочные испытания прочности формовочной смолы для катушки заземления)
QR of RTRI, Vol.49, № 2, May 2008
The superconducting magnetically levitated transportation (Maglev) system requires ground coils suitable for long-term outdoor use along the entire length of the guideway, meaning that the assurance of stable performance and high reliability is an important consideration in developing these coils. Durability verification testing from the level of the component materials to the actual product on the assumption of commercial service is therefore necessary to guarantee total reliability.
We performed flexural fatigue tests using specimens made of the epoxy resin used for actual propulsion coils. The results were used to create a fatigue limit diagram as well as a diagram to verify Miner's Law. We then confirmed the correlation between the color difference and the flexural strength by comparing the outdoor exposure test results with those of accelerated artificial exposure testing.
B. ABSTRACT
Elisabeth R. Smallidge. Bibliography on Northern Pipelines in the Former Soviet Union. (Библиография по северным трубопроводам бывшего Советского Союза)
US Army Corps of Engineers Cold Regions Research & Engineering Laboratory. Special Report 97-17, August 1997.
Technical Information Center and the U.S. Army Cold Regions Research and Engineering Laboratory resulted in a proposal to conduct a state-of-the-art review of technology and techniques for building, operating, and maintaining arctic natural gas and liquid petroleum pipelines in the former Soviet Union. This bibliography was compiled to meet the objectives of the pipeline review. References were compiled on dates of construction, location, route conditions, design, construction, maintenance, environmental impact, accidents, and production management.
The bibliography is divided into three sections: Oil and Gas Pipelines, Construction of Oil and Gas Pipelines, and Accidents; it was compiled using commercially available databases. Subjects searched included information on pipelines in the former Soviet Union, primarily in the eastern and western areas of Siberia. References were eliminated that were not of direct interest to the pipeline study.
Step II. Script stage
OBJECTIVES: at the script stage you are going to learn how to recognize general and specific ideas; topics and main ideas and write good theses.
A general idea is a main idea. It covers many smaller, more detailed ideas. A specific idea is a detail; it supports (explains or gives reasons and examples for) a main idea. Good writers think about the difference between general and specific ideas as they write. They put general ideas first, and specific ideas next. They organize their ideas like shown below.
Learn the example.
-
University students have a lot of homework (This sentence talks about a general idea: homework).
-
They often have to read several hundred textbook pages a week (This sentence contains a specific idea: an example of homework).
-
University students may also have to write several long papers each term (This sentence also contains a specific idea: another example of homework).
