3.5Lpf Handset App Activated by Server Message while Phone Powered-Off or Out-of-Coverage (Pri: Med)
If the phone is powered off or out-of-coverage when the server message is issued, the activation is deferred until the phone is powered-on and/or brought back in-coverage. In this case, the LPS Server notifies the Owner that the phone was powered-on, either by making an out-bound IVR call, sending an SMS, or sending an email. The IVR call also reports the phone location and battery status.
3.6Lpf Handset App Commanded to Report Location (Pri: Hi)
After the initial activation and location report, the LPF server can command the LPF App to report location again. This function returns to the LPF server a high-accuracy device location (possibly computed from multiple separate AGPS location calculations) as well as the battery level. NOTE: If the phone is powered-off or out-of-coverage when the command is issued, the operation is deferred until the device is turned back on and/or comes back into coverage.
The UI flow is as follows:
Temporarily hide instructions to “press any button to call phone owner”.
Display “Reporting location” status while the reporting process is occurring.
Compute high-accuracy location and report to LPF server.
Play a full Loud Ring audio cycle. (The Loud Ring helps to prevent LPF misuse as a locate function.)
Flash Display backlight from full off to full on during loud ring cycle.
Return to the standard “I’m a lost phone” display, with instructions to “press any button to call phone owner” displayed.
3.7Lpf Handset App Commanded to Ring Loudly (Pri: Hi)
After the initial activation and location report, the LPF server can command the LPF App to ring loudly again.
The locate operation always plays a full Loud Ring audio cycle.
The duration of the Loud Ring audio cycle is TBD, but expected to be roughly 30 seconds.
Display backlight flashes from full off to full on during loud ring cycle.
When completed, the app returns to the standard “I’m a lost phone” display, with backlight off. With instructions to “press any button to call phone owner” displayed.
3.8Lpf Handset App Commanded to Erase Personal Data (Pri: Med)
When the phone is locked, the LPF Handset App will optionally (if the capability is enabled on this phone) activate a personal data backup operation. Later, the LPF Server can command the LPF Handset application to erase the phone’s personal data (contact list, SMS history, photos, etc.)
At a minimum, the phone should display a status string like “Erasing personal data” while the data is being erased.
This operation, like all other LPF Server-initiated operations, may be deferred until the phone is powered-on and returned to in-coverage status.
3.9Deactivate lpf Service after Recovery (Pri: Hi)
Upon recovery, the Owner can deactivate the LPF application by entering the Unlock Code specified when the LPF service was activated. The flow is as follows:
On-screen instructions (sitting beside the “press any button to call owner” string) instruct the Owner to press and hold a specific button (e.g. “End Button”) to present the Unlock Code Entry screen.
Instructions on the Unlock Code Entry Screen tell the Owner to enter the code and press the “Send Button” to unlock the phone.
LPF Handset App sends entered code to LPF Server for verification.
If the entered code is correct, the LPF Handset App displays “Unlock successful. Congratulations on finding your phone!”, then terminates.
