Dear Sir,

Last week I stayed in your hotel from the 1st to the 8th of June. I ___26 extremely ____ with my stay there. For the prices that you ____27 I would expect a much better standard of service.

The most serious problem for me was the noise from the disco. I was in London for an important conference at which I needed to be fresh and alert. This was extremely difficult as the disco kept _____28 until three a.m. Because of the heat last week, both the disco and my bedroom _____29 have their windows open. The food was disappointing also. The menu______32, the salads were uneatable and I ____33 the soups came out of tins. Worst of all, perhaps, I had to send glasses and cutlery back to the kitchen on three occasions because they ______34 properly.

Cleanliness was also a problem in the bedrooms. Hardly had I arrived, I _____35 someone else’s hairs in the basin. What a very promising start____36!

When I _____37 about this at reception, your staff seemed more amused than concerned. I also found the behaviour of your staff rude when I asked for a hot cocoa late at night. I do not think that it was an unreasonable request in a supposedly high quality hotel.

In view of all these problems might I suggest that you ____38 your staff with greater care in the future? It would also be desirable to keep a much closer eye on how they _____39 their duties. I regret to inform you that I ____40 advise my company not to use The Star again.

Yours faithfully,

F. O’Deil (Dr)
