Введение
Учебное пособие является дополнением аутентичного учебно-методического комплекса «New Inside-Out» (уровень Pre-Intermediate) и предназначено для студентов обучающихся по программе «Переводчик в сфере профессиональной коммуникации».
Цель пособия – развитие иноязычной коммуникативной компетенции студентов по всем видам речевой деятельности: чтению, говорению, аудированию и письму. При этом особую важность имеет расширение словарного запаса студентов по изучаемым темам, для чего авторами разработаны упражнения разного типа. Особое внимание следует обратить на переводные упражнения, которые разработаны авторами в каждой теме и с учетом изучаемого лексического и грамматического материала.
Пособие может использоваться как для аудиторной так и для самостоятельной работы студентов дома.
Содержание пособие соответствует требованиям программы «Переводчик в сфере профессиональной коммуникации» и реализует компетентностный подход в обучении иностранному языку. Тексты для чтения и аудирования подобраны авторами из аутентичных источников, в том числе из Интернет.

В связи с тем, что студенты уровня Pre-Intermediate часто испытывают затруднения при составлении монологического высказывания, авторами разработаны вопросы по каждой теме, которые и являются подробным планом для составления монолога. Преподаватель может использовать различные формы контроля усвоения лексики студентами, при этом он должен обратить внимание студентов на различные способы овладения лексическим материалом, на необходимость регулярной работы над лексикой и необходимость тщательной самостоятельной подготовки дома ответов на тематические вопросы для дискуссии.
