Времена группы Indefinite (Simple)

Времена группы Indefinite выражают обычные, регулярно повторяющиеся действия в настоящем, прошедшем и будущем времени или обозначают вневременные факты.

Глаголы в формах Indefinite относят действие к разным временам, не уточняя, как оно протекает во времени.

The Present Indefinite (Simple). Простое настоящее время.

The Past Indefinite употребляется также для выражения ряда последовательных действий в прошлом.

Времена группы Continuous (Progressive)

Времена группы Continious обозначают действия, которые происходят в какой-то момент в настоящем, прошедшем или будущем времени, момент протекания действия всегда указывается. Особенностью этих времён является то, что они выражают незаконченное действие, поэтому переводятся глаголами несовершенного вида.

The Present Continuous (Progressive). Настоящее длительное время.

today - сегодня

now - сейчас

at the moment – в этот момент

when I came in – когда я пришёл

Глаголы, выражающие состояние, чувства, восприятие, умственную деятельность (to be, to have, to see, to understand, to love, to feel, to like, to hear и т.д.) не употребляются во временах группы Continious, вместо Continious используются времена группы Indefinite.

I see many students now.

The Present Continuous может употребляться для выражения запланированного действия в будущем.

I’m leaving for Moscow tomorrow.

Я уезжаю в Москву завтра.
