Dear Mr Horst

We consider it a big scandal that the car that was bought by a member of our union is of such poor quality, although it had a Bovag guarantee. And if this customer complaints in the garage, he has his nose bitten off.

In view of the above it has become clear that there is a great demand for reliable information, in order to prevent this type of shady dealings; certainly in spring when many people will once more be considering the purchase of a new car. As you will probably know, our union regularly carries out comparative research. For example we recently compared different brands of skis, and we are working on a comparative research of sports shoes.

You had better co-operate on the article in our magazine. Otherwise we will take the matter further, after all the complaints we have heard about you. In order to prepare ourselves for our article, we would kindly request you to discuss the nature of the demands and measures that could possibly be taken. Would you be so kind as to let us know whether it is convenient? Please inform us as soon as possible in connection with the forthcoming publication of our magazine.
