Развитие промышленности и сельского хозяйства позволяет расширить сеть железных дорог. Железные дороги осуществляют большой объем пассажирских и грузовых перевозок. Объем железнодорожных перевозок возрастает с каждым годом. Железнодорожный транспорт работает с большой нагрузкой. Чтобы удовлетворить потребности народного хозяйства, должны быть решены следующие задачи:

  • дальнейшее развитие транспортной сети в перспективных районах на основе разработанных комплексных планов

  • постройка новых железных дорог для разгрузки сильно напряженных линий

  • повышение провозной способности линий использованием мощных локомотивов, увеличением веса поездов, постройкой вторых путей на однопутных дорогах

  • повышение безопасности движения.
