Vaccines prepared from representative ^trains of influenza virus are available commercially and have proved effective in preventing influenza. It must be emphasized that the antigenic constitution of viruses has been found to vary to such an extent in different epidemics that it has not been possible to include all necessary strains in the vaccines. If the vaccine is given it should be administered every year preferably in the fall 1 cc. subcutaneously to adults and 0,5 cc. to children$-Local reactions to the vaccine such as redness, swelling, tenderness, and heat or general reactions with fever and constitutional symptoms are not uncommon. They may be minimized by giving the total amount of vaccine in divided doses at 1 or 2-day intervals.

Influvac is the only one subunit flu vaccine, registered officially in Ukraine. Influvac contains influenza's viral antigens only. Just exactly what a human immune system needs to create specific antibodies for influenza. Influvac is the safest flu vaccine in Ukraine, thanks to its composition. That means the lowest rate of local and general reactions after Influvac's vaccination. In its efficacy Influvac isn't inferior among other flu vaccines. The Solvay Pharma GmbH produces the original presentation for Influvac. This is the injection system named Dufarject. It contains one adult dosage for flu vaccination. The Dufarject provides an accurate dosage, a painless injection and safe vaccination process. One injection of Influvac is enough to form necessary amount of antibodies for influenza within 10-14 days. If a person has never had a flu or flu vaccination, he has to be shot twice with an interval of 4 weeks. Post vaccination immunity for influenza is valid for one year. The single contraindication for flu vaccination by Influvac is food allergy to chicken eggs. Thus Influvac is the effective and the safest way to prevent flu and its complications.
