URINARY TUBERCULOSIS

  1. The cardinal symptom of urinary tuberculosis is frequency of uri­nation. Burning terminal dysuria, spasm and haematuria may occur as the condition grows worse. Fatigue and weight loss result from the uri­nary pain and frequency, which disturb the patient's sleep. Dull pain may occur over tuberculous kidneys.

  2. Genital tuberculosis is evidenced by nodules in the prostate, semi­nal vesicles, vasa or epididymides. The tuberculous prostate casually is shrunken, and cannot be distinguished from other forms of prostatitis. Tuberculous nodules may by swollen at first but subside gradually into

smaller granular areas or ridges. Draining scrotae sinuses always should be investigated for tuberculosis.
