Shareholder: We trust you our money but I should say that the situation in the world is quite changeable. What can you tell me about the influence of the economic crises on the risks which we undertake?
Mutual Fund Manager: Well, don’t worry. First of all we are a diversified investment company. Second, we follow the conservative strategy of investment with lower risks when we manage the money we have pooled.
S.: Can you draw a detailed picture of that strategy for me, please.
M.F.M.: Yes. There are different types of Mutual funds: a money market mutual fund, a common stock fund, a corporate income fund and some others. As for our fund, we buy AA Treasury Bonds and stocks of the largest national companies which are called blue chips.
S.: What methods of risk management do you use?
M.F.M.: First of all our investments are insured against currency, interest and system risks. We also hedge our investments.
S.: Do you invest money into stocks or shares of domestic or foreign companies?
M.F.M.: Both. But we prefer to support our national companies.
S.: How can I get my money back in case of emergency?
M.F.M.: Well, you can sell your share to other members of our fund.
S.: I see. You put me at my ease. Thank you.
