Руководители компаний, что входят в список 500 крупнейших, который ежегодно публикует «Форчун», зарабатывают сегодня в 157 раз больше, чем рабочий в промышленности. Зарплата в $3 млн.в год ля президента фирмы перестала быть чем-то из ряда вон выходящим.
А ведь еще совсем недавно, каких-нибудь 30 лет назад, президенты крупных американских компаний зарабатывали «всего» в 41 раз больше рабочих. В Англии сегодня наблюдается именно такое соотношение. В Японии разрыв еще меньше – 17:1. Вместе с тем, начиная с 1973 г., реальные доходы американских рабочих неуклонно падали.
Эти данные опубликовал в своей книге «Новая американская нация» американский ученый Майкл Линд. Он считает, что в США образовался новый суперкласс, в который входят высокооплачиваемые юристы, банкиры, врачи, издатели и управляющие корпораций, составляющих вместе новую элиту. Их не стоит путать с миллиардерами – хозяевами корпораций. Новую американскую элиту составляют люди, добившиеся своего высокого положения благодаря собственным талантам и интеллекту, развитым в лучших американских университетах – Принстоне, Гарварде, Йеле.
Высокооплачиваемые работники составляют около одной пятой занятого населения. Но попасть в элитный университет из перечисленных выше, входящих в так называемую «Айви-лиг», может лишь тот, кто в состоянии заплатить $100 000 за 4 года обучения.
Деньги, однако, – это еще не все: 20% своих мест университеты «Айви-лиг», разумеется, не афишируя этого, отдают детям бывших выпускников. Справедливости ради отметим, что квоты на поступление туда имеют также чернокожие, испаноговорящие и алеуты.
Но чтобы попасть, скажем, в адвокатуру – наиболее высокооплачиваемую часть юристов, нужно отучиться еще три года и получить звание магистра (нечто вроде кандидата наук).
Обучение в университете, входящем в систему «Айви-лиг», дает не только первоклассное образование. Выпускник Гарварда или Пристона, получив диплом, как бы автоматически входит в клуб выпускников, в котором каждый добившийся успехов в бизнесе или на госслужбе считает своим долгом помочь молодым выпускникам своего университета.
Можно ли в США добиться успеха, не будучи выпускником университета «Айви-лиг»? Можно. Билл Гейтс, основатель компании «Майкрософт» и один из самых богатых людей в мире, вообще не имеет диплома университета. Но это исключение.
Человека, относящегося к новой американской суперэлите, можно узнать издалека. Обычно страшно худое существо, пол которого с налету определить невозможно. Скелетообразная внешность – результат боязни, которую испытывает представитель суперкласса: не дай Бог, кто-нибудь решит, что он «не в форме». Отсюда жесткая диета и изнурительная гимнастика. Толстых в этот «профсоюз» не пускают. За суперклассом всевозможных начальников, естественно, тянутся подчиненные. Чтобы выглядеть как можно лучше и умереть здоровыми, суперкласс накладывает на себя всевозможные ограничения. Курить не моги. Из напитков за обедом допускается разве что газированная водичка с ломтиком лимона, но уже безо льда, к которому так привыкли в Америке. Этот пуританизм распространяется только на еду и напитки. Но не на секс. Здесь ограничений нет. В ход идет все: гомосексуализм, садомазохизм, всевозможные привязывания для «отвязывания» – суперкласс Америки, вышедший из народа, примеряет на себя привычки древнеримской аристократии.
Семья их трех человек – муж, жена, служанка – стала нормой у американского олигарха. Муж и жена имеют высокооплачиваемую работу, от которой невозможно отвлечься ради каких-то там детей. Поэтому рожают редко. Родив, отправляют в Принстонский или Йельский университет. Ранняя женитьба – признак принадлежности к низшим классам. Билл Клинтон – классический пример женитьбы «по всем правилам», хотя к классу суперэлиты Клинтон относится не по рождению.
Но и вступив в брак, представитель суперкласса вне зависимости от пола сохраняет черты гермафродита. Идея того, что у мужчин и женщин могут быть разные сферы деятельности, начисто отвергаются. Все захлестнул всепоглощающий феминизм. Даже легкое заигрывание с собственной секретаршей может быть расценено как попытка насилия и повлечь за собой судебное разбирательство. Поэтому нынешние американские джентльмены стремятся держаться от дам на почтительном расстоянии. В этом одна из причин бурного развития гомосексуализма в Америке.
Разумеется, низшие классы в США, несмотря на огромную разницу в доходах, стремятся подражать высшим. Но приведет ли это в конечном итоге к деградации американской нации?
