1. Listen to the poem, read and learn by heart.
I NEVER HAD IT SO GOOD
(P. Williams, R. Nickols)
Barbara Streisand
I never had much money
I never won a race
My jokes don't end up funny
And I've had doors slammed in my face
But I think you've charmed me
I always hoped that someone would
I never had a love like this before
No, I never had it so good.
I'm not the type that's trusted
Always tripping over longs
And often I've been busted
And chased by friendly dogs.
2. Learn the tongue twisters.
Dr. Johnson and Mr. Johnson, after great consideration, came to the conclusion that the Indian nation beyond the Indian Ocean is back in education because the chief occupation is cultivation.
My Friend Gladys
Oh, the sadness of her sadness when she’s sad.
Oh, the gladness of her gladness when she’s glad.
But the sadness of her sadness, and the gladness of her gladness,
Are nothing like her madness when she’s mad!
3. Listen to the song, learn it & sing “I have a dream”
I HAVE A DREAM
(B. Andersson, B. Ulvaeus)

To help me cope with anything
If you see the wonder of a fairy tale
You can make the future even if you fail

Something good in everything I see
I believe in angels
When 1 know the time is right for me
I'll cross the street
I have a dream
2.I have a dream – a fantasy
To help me through reality
And my destination makes it worth the while
Pushing through the darkness still another night
Refrain:
I believe in angels
Something good in everything I see
I believe in angels
When I know the time is right for me
I'll cross the street
I have a dream
(twice)
3. I have a dream – a song to sing

If you see the wonder of a fairy tale
You can take the future even if you fail
Refrain:
I believe in angels
Something good in everything I sec
I believe in angels
When I know the time is right for me
I'll cross the street
I have a dream (twice)
II. Grammar Revision. A Reported Speech (Affirmative sentences and Statements)
E.g. He says: “I sent them the catalogue on Monday.” (Direct Speech)
He says (that) he sent them the catalogue on Monday. (Reported Speech)
E.g. Mary says: “I decided to give him a piece of advice.”
Mary says (that) she decided to give him a piece of advice
(Sequence of Tenses).
Present Simple → Past Simple
Present Continuous → Past Continuous
Present Perfect → Past Perfect
Present Perfect Continuous → Past Perfect Continuous
Past Simple → Past Perfect
Past Continuous → Past Continuous (иногда Past
Perfect Continuous)
Past Perfect → Past Perfect
Past Perfect Continuous → Past Perfect Continuous
Future Simple → Future in the Past
Future Continuous → глаголы “shall” “will”
Future Perfect → “should” “would”)
Future Perfect Continuous →
E.g. He said: “I’m not well today. ”
He said (that) he wasn’t well that day.
Tom said: “I’m not feeling well.”
Tom said (that) he was not feeling well.
Judy said: “John has given up his job.”
Judy said (that) John had given up his job.
Judy said: “I don’t know where to go for my holiday.”
Judy said (that) she didn’t know where to go for her holiday.
Tom said: “I woke up feeling ill and didn’t go to work.”
Tom said (that) he had woken up feeling ill and hadn’t gone to work.
Peter said: “I don’t need your help. I’ll do it myself.”
Peter said (that) he didn’t need my help and that he would do it himself.
Mr. Brown said: “We have already conducted negotiations.”
Mr. Brown said (that) they had already conducted negotiations.
Note 1.
Direct Tom said: “I woke up feeling ill.”
Reported Tom said (that) he woke up feeling well.
или Tom said (that) he had woken up feeling well.
Note 2.
E.g. Tom said: “New York is more lively than London.”
Tom said (that) New York is more lively than London.
She told her sister: “You must consult a doctor.”
She told her sister (that) she must consult a doctor.
Tom said: “I’m feeling ill.”
Tom said (that) he is feeling ill.
E.g. 1. You met Sonia a few days ago. She said: “Jim is ill.”
Later that day you see Jim. He is looking well and carrying a tennis racket. You say: “I didn’t expect to see you, Jim. Sonia said you were ill.”
2. She told her sister (that) she had to consult a doctor. It was reasonable because after the doctor’s examination her sister calmed down that her lungs were in order.
Note 3. Say and tell.
E.g. Sonia told me that she was ill.
What did you tell the police?
Sonia said (that) you were ill.
Ann said good bye to me and left.
