In the 60s BR developed a new coach for the high-speed train .It has a body length of about 75 ft and a width of 9ft, is designed for speeds up to 125mph and is fully air conditioned. A feature is the abolition of individual compartments and all seats for both first and second-class passengers are in open saloons. The other important development for the 1970s was the Advanced Passenger Train designed for speeds up to 155 mph on exiting track, and much higher speeds on specially designed tracks.
The first high-speed train was launched in Ukraine in 2002.Each train consists of eight carriages: one first class carriage with compartments, five second class carriages, one buffet carriage, one carriage for disabled people and one “car” carrier in which passengers can transport their cars.
