People use the term ‘computer’. It describes a device that is made of electronic and electromechanical components. Computer has no intelligence and we call it ‘hardware’. A computer system is a combination of five elements: hardware, software, people, procedures and data/information.

When one computer system communicates with another computer system, connectivity becomes the sixth system element.

The term software describes the instructions that tell the hardware how to perform a task. People are also an important component of the computer system: they create the computer software instructions and respond to the procedures.

The basic job of the computer is to process information. We use a computer to convert data into information and to store it in the digital form. Computers get deep and deep into our life. They are important in space research, communication, medicine, light industry, information technology. Computer games are also very popular now.
