Introduction
Первая реклама появилась в газетах в XVII—XVIII вв., однако до 1908 г. пребывала в латентном состоянии. Только благодаря Вальтеру Диллу Скотту, который успешно применил достижения психологии в создании рекламы, она стала неотъемлемой частью жизни человека XXI в. В своем фундаментальном произведении, созданном в 1908 г., "Physiology of Advertising" В.Д. Скотт поведал миру, что надо делать, чтобы создать рекламу, воздействующую на чувства людей и побуждающую их совершать действия, необходимые рекламодателю.
В настоящее время практически невозможно найти область человеческой деятельности или продукта оной, не охваченной рекламой или не отраженной в ней. Учебное пособие по английскому языку «Реклама в туризме» предназначено прежде всего для студентов, изучающих туристический бизнес и желающих познакомиться с историей появления и психологией рекламы, а также научиться создавать свою собственную рекламу на основе приведенных образцов как на английском, так и на русском языках. Издание отвечает требованиям государственных образовательных стандартов высшего профессионального образования, предъявляемым к преподаванию иностранного языка в неязыковых вузах с учетом профессиональной направленности обучения.
Пособие состоит из восьми разделов. В начале каждого раздела помещен тематический словарик, что облегчает выполнение последующих заданий, которые являются своеобразным тестом, направленным на проверку степени усвоения предложенной лексики. Введенные лексические единицы отрабатываются в заданиях на перевод-переключение, закрепляются в предложениях на перевод и активно используются в упражнениях, имитирующих ситуации профессиональной речевой действительности. Несомненно, продукция нового текста невозможна без репродукции уже имеющегося, поэтому в данном учебном пособии много внимания уделяется развитию навыков устной речи. Почти в каждом разделе имеется задание на пересказ.
При работе с лексикой особое внимание уделяется терминологии рекламы. Усвоение терминов данной деятельности не должно вызывать у обучаемых особых трудностей, поскольку большинство из них в результате транслитерации и транскрипции широко используются в современном русском языке, причем некоторые до сих пор на правах неологизмов. Знание терминов свидетельствует о профессионализме специалиста определенной области знания.
Основная цель учебного пособия состоит в обучении практическому владению языком рекламы: развитии грамматически правильной и логически осмысленной устной и письменной речи. Все разделы, за исключением первого, включают дотекстовые упражнения, текст и послетекстовые упражнения. Тексты пособия подобраны в соответствии с поставленными задачами и охватывают такие темы, как знакомство с рекламой, роль рекламы в нашей жизни, психология рекламы, структура рекламы, целевая аудитория, виды рекламы, перспективы развития рекламы. В последнем, десятом, разделе приводятся разнообразные образцы туристической рекламы, предлагаются задания детально их проанализировать и попытаться, исходя из имеющихся примеров, создать свою рекламу. Это задание прививает навыки практической работы по созданию рекламы на иностранном языке, оно является одной из первых попыток подобного рода в отечественной практике.
Упражнения каждого урока тематически связаны, что позволяет обучаемым получать дополнительную экстралингвистическую информацию по специальности.
Предлагаемое учебное пособие позволяет развивать у обучаемых языковую, речевую, культурную и профессиональную компетенцию, что оптимизирует обучение английскому языку для специальных целей.
Несмотря на то, что пособие рассчитано, главным образом, на обучение рекламе в сфере туризма, основные теоретические сведения, представленные в текстах, носят универсальный рактер и применимы к любому виду коммерческой рекламы, поэтому предлагаемое издание может быть с успехом использовано для самой широкой аудитории будущих специалистов в области рекламы.

Advertising is a way of publicly praising goods in order to encourage or persuade the public to use or buy them. It has clearly done much good by bringing many useful inventions, ideas and by-products of major research programmes to a wide number of people.
