22. The word One
One, стоящее пред личной формой глагола, является формальным подлежащим и на рус-ский язык не пере-водится. One в форме притяжательного падежа переводится местоимениями свой, своя, своё. One + modal verbs – в функции подлежащего |

Причастие является неличной формой глагола и обладает признаками как прилагательного (иногда наречия), так и глагола. Причастию в английском языке соответствуют в русском языке причастие и деепричастие. |

Причастие I (Present Participle) (asking – спрашивающий, спрашивая) выражает одновременность с действием, выраженным глаголом -сказуемым.

Разбитая чашка лежала на столе. Переводя статью, я встретил много незнакомых слов. Не зная многих слов, мне пришлось пользоваться словарем.
Она сидела на диване, читая книгу.
Причастие II (Past Participle) (done – сделанный) имеет значение страдательного залога

The books written by L. Tolstoy are read with great interest. The plan is discussed. If asked he will tell you a lot of interesting about his life abroad.
Книги, написанные Л. Толстым, читаются с большим интересом. План обсужден. Если его попросят, он расскажет много интересного о своей жизни за границей.
Perfect Participle (having asked – спросив) выражает предшествование по отношению к действию, выраженному глаголом-сказуемым.

Having left school two years ago he couldn’t enter any Institute, but now he is a student. (= After he had left…) Having left school with excellent marks he entered the University.
(= As he had left …)

Окончив школу с отличными оценками, он поступил в университет.
