Техника перевода

Полезно соблюдать определенный алгоритм действий:

1. Прежде чем начать перевод, внимательно прочитайте весь текст, поймите его содержание.

2. Прочитайте текст вторично, разбив его на небольшие части.

3. Перевод предложений начинайте со сказуемого и подлежащего:

Глагол-сказуемое обычно стоит на втором месте. Запомните способы нахождения сказуемого:

а) по личным местоимениям;

б) по неправильным глаголам;

в) по вспомогательным и модальным глаголам в личной форме;

г) по суффиксу - (е) s

д) по суффиксу – (e) d

Подлежащее находится слева от сказуемого. Помните, что существительные могут быть подлежащим только без предлога перед ним.

4. Найдите значения новых слов в словаре.

5. Внимательно присмотритесь к словам, имеющим знакомые вам английские, латинские или интернациональные корни, суффиксы и префиксы. Попытайтесь установить значения этих слов, обращая внимание на то, какой частью речи являются такие слова, а затем подбирайте соответствующее русское слово.

6. Помните, что в научном тексте часть слов может быть опущена без ущерба содержания.

7. Отличайте определение от определяемого слова (группа с существительным в конце)

8. Слова, оставшиеся непонятными, ищите в словаре, соотнося их значение с контекстом.

Bronchoscopy The mouth and nose provide points of entry so that air can travel in and out of the lungs through the windpipe, known as the trachea, and bronchial tubes. W ith each breath, the lungs take fresh oxygen from the air into the blood and remove leftover carbon dioxide from the blood for exhalation. To see and diagnose problems inside the lungs, a doctor may examine its major airways by performing a bronchoscopy. A bronchoscopy may be done to: look for, and possibly retrieve, a foreign object that might have been inhaled instead of swallowed, investigate a persistent cough or a cough producing blood, obtain a mucus, tissue, or liquid sample from inside the lungs, or evaluate an abnormal chest x–ray or CT scan. During a bronchoscopy, your doctor will insert one of two types of bronchoscopes, through your nose or mouth and into your trachea and bronchial tubes. The bronchoscopes consist of lighted, flexible tubes that carry image equipment and other instruments. Your doctor will choose which type of bronchoscope to use based upon your symptoms. A fiberoptic bronchoscope can pass through your nose or mouth. It projects a magnified image of lung tissue on a screen and can collect small samples. An open tube bronchoscope is slightly thicker and must pass through your mouth. It can remove foreign objects or collect larger samples for biopsy.

Levi Strauss, a young immigrant from Germany, arrived in San Francisco in 1850. California was in the middle of the Gold Rush. Thousands of men were coming to California to dig for gold. And Levi Strauss came to sell canvas to these gold miners. Canvas is a heavy fabric. So Levi Strauss thought the miners could use the canvas for tents.

One day Strauss heard a miner complain that he couldn't find clothes strong enough for the work he was doing. Strauss got an idea. He quickly took some of his canvas and made it into pants. These pants were what the miners needed. In one day Strauss sold all the pants he had made.

Strauss wanted to improve his pants. He wanted to make them even better. He bought a fabric that was softer than canvas but just as strong. This fabric came from Nimes, a city in France, and was called serge de Nimes. The miners liked this fabric. They called it "denim" (from de Nimes) and bought even more pants from Strauss.

However, denim had no color. Because of this the denim pants did not look very interesting, and they got dirty easily. To solve these problems, Strauss dyed the denim blue.

Strauss continued to improve his jeans. Today, the company he started is known around the world. And jeans are considered not just practical but very fashionable as well.
