Articles

Undertaking Commitments

The High Contracting Parties

The States Parties to this (the present) Convention (Treaty,

undertake to (+ inf.)

contribute to peace and security

encourage cooperation among nations

maintain and diffuse knowledge

promote the acceptance and observance of the policy

abide by the provisions of the present Convention

undertake not to (+ inf.)

assume any international obligations which would conflict with this Treaty

circumvent the provisions of the present Convention

use force or threat of force in international relations

intervene in the internal affairs of other States

manufacture or stockpile nuclear weapons

Accession

All States

become Parties to the Convention

(a) Signature not subject to ratification, acceptance or approval, or

(b) Signature subject to

ratification, acceptance or approval, followed by ratification, acceptance or approval, or

(c) Accession

Ratification, acceptance, approval or accession shall be effected by the deposit of the appropriate instrument with the Depositary.

any state belonging to categories A and B mentioned in Article 34.

Entry into Force

This (The present) Convention (Treaty, etc.)

instrument with the Depositary

three months after the date of (the) deposit with the Secretary-General of the United Nations of the thirty- fifth instrument of ratification or instrument of accession.

Duration and Termination

through December 31, 1995, unless replaced earlier by another agreement....

for so long as each Party remains a Member of the United Nations…

until a revised general convention has been approved by the General Assembly
