1.3. Compound words
Exercise 7. Translate the following words and attributive word-groups in Russian.
Shadehouse, outdoor, neo-cortex, neuron-transmitters, oil-bearing, heavy-weight, well-informed, water-proof, noteworthy, grown-up, fire-proof, seaside, forget-me-nots, a three-day conference, jet-black, a five-minute talk.
1.3. Grammar present perfect continuous
We use the Present Perfect Continuous:
For an activity, that began some time ago and is still happening (with how long, for, since)
It has been raining for two hours.
For an activity that has recently stopped or just stopped
You are out of breath. Have you been running?
For actions, repeated over a period of time.
Debbie is a very good tennis player. She has been playing since she was eight.
