Business etiquette

Invitation -
Most people start their own business because they are particularly good at something. However, running a business requires much more than just being good at what you do. Various courses, seminars, receptions, information meetings, trade shows, presentations will provide you with information on how to find a business partner and how to improve your business.
To attend one of these events you'll probably need an official invitation from the organizers. A well-written and well-arranged invitation usually contains the following information:
the name of the company, who organizers an event
the name of an event
its main theme(s)
location
date and hour
Here is an example of an official, invitation.
The Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC) in cooperation with the Canadian Chamber of Commerce cordially invites you to participate in the Small Business Week
This year's events run from Oct. 22 to Oct. 28 at The Sheraton Center.
Events highlight the skills and accomplishments of the owners and managers of small and medium-sized enterprises and bring them together with those who are interested in the development of small business.
It may also contain the information on the Sponsors.
Less formal invitations are usually shorter, but written following the same principles.
Here is an example of a friendly invitation.
The Director and the Staff of the HR International invite you to Farewell Cocktail Party which will be held in the Garden Room - The Delta Lodge on Friday 01 July at 5:00 PM
Similar invitations were sent to the participants of the CEO Breakfast Series, which are becoming more and more popular among western businessmen.
The CEO Breakfast Series are a series of business presentations offered by business leaders of an industry in informal and friendly atmosphere of fashionable hotels. The CEOs get together for a lively discussion surrounding the state of industry in their country. Each speaker offers the inside track on different aspects of their business. The idea of the CEO Breakfast Series originated among the leaders of e-commerce.
Look at the program of one of these Series that took place at the Sutton Place Hotel in Toronto in November.
