Healing Imported Data
Because TracePro can import models from a variety of sources, the imported models can be assembled with a variety of different tools in a variety of different ways. Given this situation, it is likely that different models are be created with differing degrees of quality. Rather than simply rejecting any model that does not meet a certain level of integrity, healing attempts to mend any model or topology that is not “watertight” (i.e. where two surfaces don’t quite meet at an edge), thereby improving the model’s integrity and quality.
The complete healing sequence is complicated and follows the following steps:
1.Initialization
Temporary healing-specific attributes are attached to a model.
2.Pre-Processing
Performs initial cleanup of a model
3.Geometry Simplification
Converts spline geometry to analytic, wherever possible
